Hadron Spectroscopy in Electrons-protons Collisions at Hera

چکیده
Experimental evidence for an exotic baryon first came in 2003 from the observation of a S = +1 narrow resonance 1 at 1540± 10 MeV which can be associated with an exotic pentaquark state with content uudds̄. Confirmation came quickly from a series of experiments, with the observation of sharp peaks 2,3,4,5 in the nK and pK S invariant mass spectrum near 1540 MeV, in each case with a width limited by the experimental resolution. Strong evidence in support of a baryon decuplet comes from the reported observation of an exotic S = −2, Q = −2 baryon resonance in pp collisions . A narrow peak at a mass of about 1862 MeV in the Ξπ invariant mass spectrum is proposed as a candidate for the predicted exotic Ξ 3 2 baryon with a quark content dsdsū. At the same mass, a peak is

Qcd Studies in Ep Collisions
These lectures describe QCD physics studies over the period 1992-1996 from data taken with collisions of 27 GeV electrons and positrons with 820 GeV protons at the HERA collider at DESY by the two generalpurpose detectors HI and ZEUS. The focus of these lectures is on structure functions and jet production in deep inelastic scattering, photoproduction, and diffraction. The topics covered start ...
متن کاملCharm production at HERA
The HERA collider circulates beams of electrons (positrons) and protons at energies of 27.5 and 820GeV respectively. The ep centre of mass energy for collisions between the beams is 300GeV. The largest cross-section processes observed in these collisions are photoproduction reactions, where the e beam acts as a source of almost real (Q ≪ 1GeV) photons. Processes where a virtual photon of sizeab...
متن کاملThe Physics of Deep-Inelastic Scattering at HERA
In this paper an introduction to the physics of deep-inelastic scattering is given together with an account of some of the most recent results on the proton structure obtained in electron– and positron–proton collisions at the HERA collider.
متن کاملInclusive Hadron Production and Dijets at Hera
The HERA storage ring provides beams of protons at 820 GeV and positrons at 27.5 GeV energy. Collisions of these are recorded at two general purpose detectors, H1 and ZEUS. Measurements of the hadronic final state in deepinelastic scattering and in photoproduction processes allow precise tests of the validity of perturbative Quantum-Chromo Dynamics (pQCD). In addition the extraction of the stro...
متن کاملRecent Results from the H1 Collaboration
During the years 1994–2007 the HERA ep collider in Hamburg collided electrons or positrons with an energy of 27.5GeV and protons with an energy of 920GeV, at a centre-of-mass energy of 320GeV. The last months of data taking were dedicated to special low energy runs, with proton energies of 460 and 575GeV, corresponding to centre-of-mass energies of 220 and 250GeV, respectively. During the whole...
